ABOUT US
The Sexual
Assault Prevention Program began in April 2005 as a university
and community response to the growing trend of sexual violence
in our culture. The program is an information, education, advocacy,
intervention and resource hub relating to all aspects of sexual
violence at Binghamton University. A project of the University
Counseling Center in collaboration with university departments
and community partnerships, the Sexual Assault Prevention Program
was funded through a grant from the Department of Justice Violence
Against Women Office. Our mission is to end all forms of sexual violence
in our community.
The Sexual
Assault Prevention Program provides education and supportive
services for Binghamton University and the surrounding community
related to:
- Sexual
Assault
- Dating/Domestic
Violence
- Stalking
We are committed
to fulfilling this mission in a culturally-sensitive and empathic
way for students, faculty, and staff. Sexual Assault Prevention
Program offers a number of services to Binghamton University, including
education and training, advocacy, information and referral, crisis
intervention, special events, and volunteer opportunities.
